Position Size Calculator

Decide how much you are willing to lose first. Enter account, risk % and stop distance to back-calculate your position size.

Enter values and press Calculate.

Why position sizing comes first

Survival is decided by risk management, not entry skill. Set the amount you can lose per trade (often 1–2% of the account), then let the stop distance set your size. See position sizing and risk:reward.

How it is calculated

risk = balance × risk%
stop distance = |entry − stop| / entry
notional = risk / stop distance
required margin = notional / leverage

Caveat

Fees and slippage are not included. Estimate only, not investment advice. Always use a stop-loss.
